Regular school attendance is essential to children’s learning and future life chances. We therefore encourage parents to ensure that their child attends school every day and arrives on time, ready to learn. This way, they can make good progress and enjoy all the opportunities that school life brings.
St Philip’s has good attendance and we are very proud of our children who show excellent attendance and punctuality.
Our school day begins at 8:50am and registration takes place at 9:00am. Children arriving after this time will be recorded as late.
Our attendance is closely monitored by our Attendance Officer Mrs Valentine. If your child is not going to be in school, we always need to hear the reason for their absence. If we do not hear from you, the school will call you or even visit your house to conduct a welfare check.
If a family does not encourage their child to attend school regularly, the Council may issue a fixed penalty notice (fine).
Please read our Attendance Policy for more details.
