Pupil Premium

The PE and sport premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils.

PE and sports are incredibly important to us at St Philip’s. We plan to use the funds to further enhance our children’s love of sports and to help them develop skills they will use for the rest of their lives.

Most schools with primary-age pupils receive the PE and sport premium in the academic year 2024 to 2025, including:

● maintained schools

● academies and free schools

● special schools

● non-maintained special schools

● city technology colleges (CTCs)

● pupil referral units (PRUs)

● general hospitals

Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

In the 2024 to 2025 financial year, schools receive the following funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years:

● £1,480 for pupils in reception year to year 6

Schools also receive £2,570 for each pupil who has left local authority-care because of 1 of the following:

● adoption

● a special guardianship order

● a child arrangements order

● a residence order

Each school has the freedom to spend Pupil Premium money as they see fit, however schools are held accountable for the progress and achievement of those pupils in receipt of the funding.

Please access the report below to see how St Philip’s uses its Pupil Premium funding. If you think that your child may help the school to receive funding, please contact the school office.
