YEAR 5

Hi there!
My name is Mr. Talbot. I’m a north-west native who loves all things outdoors, football and of course, teaching. I began working with children when I was 18. I worked that winter in a Ski hotel in France which catered for school parties. The following summer, I worked in a summer camp for 6 to 16-year olds in America. It was here I decided to become a teacher. I studied my PGCE at The University of Manchester, just down the road, and this is my first job in teaching.
In my spare time, I love to spend time with my niece, Poppy, who is 1.5 years old. I love keeping active and jog 4 times a week (when the weather isn’t too nasty!). I am a very keen cook and a big Manchester United fan! Above all, I love interacting with pupils and their parents. I think primary school is the best time in any child’s life and I always endeavour to make my lessons fun, interactive and engaging.
My door is always open to chat, come on by at drop-off or pick-up and I will always make time for you.

My name is Mrs Whelan and, along with Miss Bennett, we will be teaching year 5. I love teaching at St Philip’s and I am very excited to be back in class this year. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, taking photographs and going to the seaside.
