Hi, my name is Ms Arshad and I am the Year 4 teacher and have been working with St Philips for 5 years. I also have the pleasure of having Miss Tolkien in the class and together we have built upon a great understanding of the expectations required within Year 4. I enjoy playing different types of sports and keeping fit as well as travelling the world. In my spare time, I love to go for walks, hiking and I like photography. Here are some things that is required when coming up to Year 4:
Year 4 Expectation
Homework is handed in on a Friday and is expected to be brought back to school on a Monday.
Spellings – Children will be given a spelling test every week and are given new words on Friday in their homework books.
Reading books need to be brought in every day and will be changed once they have done an accelerated reading tests. It is advised that parents read as much as they can with their children as it really helps and shows progression in class.
PE kits – Year 4 have swimming on a Tuesday and are expected to bring in the swimming costumes every week.
For girls, they will need a swimming outfit, a hat and a towel. Please can you ensure that earrings are not worn on that day.
For boys, they will need the correct swimming trunks (please see letter that is given before the start of the year), a hat if the hair is longer than shoulder length.
Timetable Test – It is vital that when children are coming up to year 4 that they practice and know their timetables as it will help them with their learning.
