Year 1

After a very busy Autumn half term, I hope all of Year 1 have a lovely and restful half term, and we will see you bright and early on Monday the 29th October, ready to learn all about addition - and our exciting new story in Literacy!

Welcome to Year 1's blog page! So far this term we have been learning about the Three Little Pigs in Literacy. We love using our actions to help us retell the story. Why don't you challenge us to see if we can still remember it? We are now moving on to learning all about the adventures of Stick Man - we are loving this story so far, and we feel so sorry for Stick Man - he longs to be back in the family tree.

We have also been learning about number bonds in Maths, and using part part whole models to display our understanding. We are working on positional language next.

We are currently collecting for Harvest in Year 1, and will be until 5th October. All of our donations will be going to our local food bank. We have been talking in class about how Harvest is a time to think about others, and to share what we have with them. We are having a lovely time learning our Paintbox song for Harvest
